If you’re prone to scratching or otherwise damaging your iPhone screen, you may want to listen up.
A company named Innerexile, which previously sold a self-repairing screen protector, has unveiled a new version that repairs screens in just one second. The screen protector, which is just 0.2mm thick, has been tested against a 2,000g bronze brush. Once those scratches are registered, the protector automatically repairs them and returns the display to its former glory.
According to Innerexile, the screen protector has microcapsules filled with a glue-like liquid. When a scratch is registered, the capsules break and fill the void where the scratch is located. Within just one second, the screen is restored and the scratch filled, leaving it practically unrecognizable.
The screen protector is an important one for those who typically drop their devices or don’t use sturdy cases.
According to the company, the new version of the screen protector works with Apple’s iPhone 6s and 6s Plus and will support the 3D Touch pressure-sensing technology built into those products. It’s available now for $23.99 for the iPhone 6/6s model and $25.99 for the iPhone 6/6s Plus, and will start shipping Nov. 3.
