Facebook is encouraging users to whinge about the Tube strike

Facebook has irked its users by inviting them to discuss the tube strike, in a first for the social network

For the first time Facebook has prompted its users to ‘join the conversation about the tube strike’, and thoroughly annoyed them in the process.

The social network has never before invited users to discuss a specified topic, and its blatant attempt to encourage people to whine has, in turn, created more whining over on Twitter.

Not all users appear to have received the prompt, which started cropping up on mobile and not desktop versions on Wednesday morning.

From 6.30pm all lines on the London Underground will come to a standstill, meaning the network will be down until Friday and will cause commuter hell across the capital.Transport for London says extra bus and river services are being laid onduring the strike, but warned that all public transport and roads will be busier than usual.People are advised to complete their journeys by 6.30pm tonight and to travel earlier if they can. Workers and tourists will also face a day of disruption tomorrow as the system is completely closed for the second time in a month.
